Should He Pay the Bill $$

You decide to have dinner with this guy who insists on taking you on a date. Once you two finish your meal the check comes. Should you offer to pay the bill? If you think because he asked you out he should automatically pay that’s the wrong attitude because he owes you nothing. You both had a meal and shared conversation. Dude, she owes you nothing either if you pay the bill. Ok, my best advice for the woman is to make sure you never go on a date without enough money to actually pay the bill and make sure you have cab money. I always drove my car and met at the place for safety reasons. Alright, if you really like the guy and plan to see him again at least offer to pay the bill. If your date refuses your attempt (hurray!) you leave the tip no matter what he says besides the waiter wins. The guy may fall in love with the fact you offered knowing you weren’t just looking for a free meal. Believe it or not, some guys love it when women offer to take them out and foot the bill. Don’t make this more complicated then it is since the first date should be fun. But remember the first date determines many things! I could be wrong but knowing someone is willing to go 50/50 would be a huge deciding factor. Everybody wants a free ride and it’s not fair to assume every guy has loads of cash willing to spoil you. His future could be bright you never know! So, with that being said be flexible, fair and have fun.

  1. I would love for a woman to take me out and fit the bill or we could go Dutch. It would be cool with me if she left a tip. I’m not the kinda guy to expect something in return becuz I paid for the meal except good conversation

  2. Great conversation piece !! I’d be happy if, in fact, while on a date a woman left the tip…let alone offered to ‘take me out’ (& pay). I really do LIKE good company, but after a while of simply being ‘dinner dates’ , the care starts to fizzle . It’s an empty feeling to show love, when all the other person does in return… is to let you !!

  3. What a great post! I always feel that I should at least OFFER to pay as I find it rather awkward if we’re both just sitting there looking at the bill. I think some of my best dates have been when the guy has said he was going to the toilet and has paid, not because I didn’t want to, but simply because that awkwardness was then not present. I really like what you said about leaving the tip, I think that’s a good idea and I shall be doing that in the future. To be honest, I don’t really care much who pays after one guy decided to demand that the bill was written out again so we could determine who had what and what it cost so we could both pay for exactly what we had…I mean, splitting the bill is one thing but demanding more money from me because I had an extra piece of the fancy bread is just not on!

  4. Hmmmm….guess I’m old school. If a guy asks ME out on a date, I am NOT paying the bill, nor am I offering to pay it. I mean, he asked me….and I’m for letting a man be just that…a man. Now, I’m not saying I would never pay or even go dutch, but on the first date that HE asked ME to go on, naw that ain’t happening champ!!! and I don’t by any means assume he has boatloads of cash, but he asked me out….why would I pay?
I don’t consider it looking for a free meal, he obvioulsy was interested in taking me out to enjoy good company and great convo….and that’s exactly what I’ll give him.

Men pursue women….not the other way around. My bible says when a man findeth a wife, he findeth a good thing! Not when a woman finds a husband…..JMO.
